DRILL — RADIO RUN: DISPATCH SIDE
DISPATCH SIDE — you're not the officer here
Every other drill in this trainer puts you in the unit. This one flips it: the OFFICER calls it in over the radio, and you're the one who has to catch it clean.
Listen for the plate or the name, spoken phonetically, plus the state and what they're asking for — log it in the fields exactly as heard (letters and numbers, not the phonetic words). That's where a trap plate like B/8 or S/5 actually bites.
The system returns a hit. Read it back to the officer, clean and short — a hot return gets handled discreet, not broadcast in the clear.
First listen is free. Every replay costs a little — on a real channel you don't get a second pass. Codes you may hear: 10-28 registration, 10-29 wants, 11-27 license check (CA — not 10-27), 10-36 confidential info. Confirm with SME.
